50 Most Expensive Wines in The World
Aug 12, 2015
(FineDiningLovers) - A wine from Burgundy in France has been picked as the world’s most expensive, according to the annual ranking released by the WineSearcher website.
The 1985 Richebourg Grand Cru was picked as the most expensive, beating the world famous Romanee-Conti wine that many expected to take the title.
The 1985 Richebourg Grand Cru averages around $15,000 per bottle, and though this beats the Romanee-Conti with its $13,000 average price per bottle, the Romanee-Conti still wins when it comes to the maximum price you can expect to pay.
The list of the most expensive wines was created by comparing the prices from 55,000 different wine merchants with the top three on the list all going to Burgundy, in fact, 40 of the top 50 wines on the list are from the same Province in France.
Take a look at the top 20 list below, you can see the rest on WineSearcher with more details about each bottle.
