Carlsberg don’t do houses, but if they did they would probably… look like this.
Jun 30, 2015
(Metro) - Your move, Carlsberg.
Struggling to get on the property ladder? Forget saving for years and living off Smart Price beans. Just grab yourself a few beers.
That’s precisely what Chinese engineering graduate Li Rongjun did when he built his new gaff out of 8,500 beer bottles.
The stunning building took four months to build and cost 70,000 yuan (£7,150) to complete.
However we bet we know a few people who could have supplied the ‘materials’ for free.
It was Li’s first project out of uni after he finished a construction degree at the Inner Mongolia University Of Science & Technology earlier this year.
He said: ‘I aim to build an office using a unique artistic style.’
As well as beer bottles Li used sand, cement and cobblestones were the other materials used.
The building has two floors with each storey 2.8m high.
We are not too sure what it would smell like inside…. eau de Carlsberg is not our first choice of scent.
But that does not seem to bother his neighbours in Lanya village in the Chongqing municipality.
Villager Li Yan said: ‘The building is more beautiful in the evening as it is luminous under the lighting.’
