Jackson Family Wines launches new Burgundy wine division
Sep 17, 2014
(PD) - Jackson Family Wines has launched a new wine division that will focus on Burgundy varieties.
The West Burgundy Wine Group is comprised of estate-grown, site-specific wines in the North Coast and Oregon. Fred Reno, vice president of strategic products, will serve as its director.
The Santa Rosa company said in a statement that the new division will “honor the Jackson family’s commitment to producing world class chardonnay and pinot noir.”
The division features the following brands:
• Champ de Rêves, meaning Field of Dreams in French, from a high-elevation pinot noir vineyard in the Anderson Valley.
• Wild Ridge, a pinot noir grown in the far western edge of California’s Sonoma Coast.
• Chardenet, from a single vineyard chardonnay from the coolest regions of the Sonoma Coast.
• Gran Moraine, an artisan pinot noir from a hillside vineyard in the Yamhill-Carlton district of the Willamette Valley in Oregon.
The wine group will also be the exclusive importer for Molliard-Grivot, a family-owned wine broker that represents vineyards within Burgundy. The division will be based at Carneros Hills Winery, which was previously owned by Buena Vista and is now part of the Jackson Family Wines.
