California Wine Grapes World's Most Expensive Raisins?
Feb 2, 2014
(TheSpoof) - As the California drought continues, a controversy is fermenting in the Napa Valley. A spokesman for the California Wine Grape Growers Association issued a strong statement concerning Governor Brown's recent suggestion.
Brown's idea, presented at the annual Northern California Water Association meeting last Thursday, is to quit watering vineyards and instead allow the grapes to dry as raisins.
"Son effroyable! stated Jean Hubert of the CWGGA, "We will not tolerate Governor Brown's intolerable water saving ideas! The California Wine Industry must be preserved at all costs."
The California Grape Growers Association applauded Governor Brown's decision, saying that the wine industry has received way too much of California's valuable water resources. In a statement issued today, a spokesman reminded the country that while the cute, dancing California raisins are ambassadors to the world, California wines are merely "ostentatious, pretentious little water grubbing overpriced liquids."
