Chinese billionaire, French wine maker believed dead after helicopter crash
Dec 23, 2013
(NYDailyNews) - Lam Kok of China, who had just bought a winery from James Gregoire in Bordeaux, France, is believed to have died in a crash after a helicopter flight to celebrate his purchase of a winery. Kok was in the copter piloted by Gregoire, and other passengers included Kok's 12-year-old son and a person believed to be an interpreter.
A Chinese billionaire and a French wine maker are feared dead following a helicopter crash they took together to celebrate the sale of a Bordeaux chateau.
Hotel magnate Lam Kok died, along with his 12-year-old son and pilot James Gregoire, who had sold him the 160-acre estate Chateau de la Rivière just hours before.
It is thought they had gone to view the estate from the air as part of the celebrations.
Another person was killed in the crash, thought to be an interpreter.
Kok's wife, Liu Xiangyun, had pulled out of the flight just minutes before the crash saying she was scared of helicopters.
They had posed for pictures just before the fatal flight, according to the Mirror.
