(BizJournals) - U.S. wine exports, 90 percent of them from the Golden State, jumped 6 percent by value in the first six months of 2013, to $712 million.

That's the word from the San Francisco-based Wine Institute, a trade group that represents more than 1,000 wineries and related businesses in California.

The Wine Institute cited data from Global Trade Information Services.

But case shipments dropped slightly during the same time frame, a 1.4 percent dip to 214.8 million liters through the end of June.
