Drync raises $900K to expand wine-ordering app
Aug 14, 2013
(BizJournals) - Boston-based Drync, maker of a mobile app which lets wine drinkers order wines while they try them, on Wednesday announced it has raised $900,000 in angel funding to expand its fulfillment, marketing and product development.
Drync initially launched a wine information app in 2008, which gained hundreds of thousands of users, before expanding this past February to offer the wine-ordering app.
Angel investors in the funding round include Mark Hastings, managing partner of Garvin Hill Capital Fund, financial industry executive Jack Remondi and BuyWithMe founder Andrew Moss. Drync had previously been self-funded.
The app allows wine drinkers to scan a wine label and place orders directly through the app — taking away the often-impossible task of tracking down a good wine later on, according to Drync founder and CEO Brad Rosen.
