Foster's adds new drops after wine cull

Mar 3, 2010

BEVERAGE major Foster's is extending the range of key wine brands following a savage culling of underperforming labels. The release of its Bin range of premium Penfolds wines, which went on sale this week, includes two new offerings -- Bin 23 Adelaide Hills Pinot Noir and Reserve Bin aged Release Eden Valley Reisling 2005 -- the first since 2000. Foster's last year scrapped 17 wine brands, while hiving off a further 13 underperforming brands such as Queen Adelaide, Half Mile Creek and Minchinbury into a joint venture with privately held Vok Beverages, to free up resources to put behind more lucrative products.
