Grapes of wrath: Italian arrested over £10 million Tuscan wine sabotage

Dec 18, 2012

(Telegraph) - Italian police have arrested a man on suspicion of sabotaging an acclaimed vineyard in Tuscany by emptying around £10 million pound worth of top quality red wine onto the floor as part of an apparent vendetta against the owners. The owners of the Case Basse winery were left devastated this month when they found that someone had turned on the taps of the giant wooden casks in their cellars and sent more than 62,000 litres of prized Brunello di Montalcino gurgling down the drain.
