US: Michigan says cheers to wine grapes: Number of wineries triples over decade

(MLive) - Michigan has tripled its number of wineries and doubled its wine grape acreage since 2002, according to a report by the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Agricultural Statistics Service. Michigan ranked fourth in total grape production in the United States in 2011, behind California, Washington and New York, and ranked fifth in wine grape production.
