Once again wines from the New World are dominating the top 10 brands, highlighting the importance of strong marketing to make and maintain a global brand. Concha y Toro saw huge growth over the last 12 month, but it was still unable to take the top spot in this top 10. Gallo also enjoyed growth, but otherwise it proved to be a tough year for some of the world’s big wine brands. Most saw a decrease in sales compared to the previous 12 months, as some of these brands reflect the trend of a global economic downturn.
