Argentinean wine industry to recover in next five years: Report

(DBRWines) - Argentinean wine industry is expected to show recovery signs in the next five years, according to a new forecast by UK-based research firm Canadean – Wines & Spirits. The report 'The Future of the Wine Market in Argentina, to 2016' forecasts that the industry's compound annual growth rate (CAGR) would end its declining trend in 2012 and continue to improve thereafter. As per the study, the CAGR during 2011-16 is expected to touch 1.66%, compared to -3.08% that it recorded in the last five years, 2006-11. Canadean observed that the total wine consumption in Argentina declined by 14.5% in 2011 compared to 2006 volumes, while it is anticipated to grow by 8.6% by 2016.
