(Recordnet) - Delicato Family Vineyards has embarked on a five-year expansion of its original Manteca winery, boosting production to 16 million cases per year from 12 million cases, company officials said. John Yarborough, vice president of winery operations, said Tuesday that recently as many as 84 construction workers have helped erect stainless tanks, install refrigeration equipment, pour concrete pads and paint or upgrade existing tanks at the winery off Highway 99 at French Camp Road. And there are another 40 or so workers off-site building equipment or fabricating materials for the project. "So there's quite a few people working on the expansion helping us out," he said. The winery has added about 10 workers in the past year, and another handful will be needed when the first stage of the expansion goes into operation, Yarborough said.
