(Austinist) - A report released this week by the Texas Craft Brewers Guild (TCBG) shows small Texas beer is making a big economic impact. According to the study, the rapidly growing Texas craft brewery industry injected over $608 million into the state economy in 2011 alone. Along with highlighting the booming industry’s recent economic impact, the study, which included a survey of TCBG member organizations, forecasted the industry’s future growth potential and called attention to regulatory roadblocks potentially harmful to its long term success. However, using the Texas wine industry as a guide, the study projected with the right regulatory reform, the industry could lead to a $5.6 billion in economic impact and add over 50,000 jobs statewide by 2020.
