(Digtriad) - They're not just grapes. North Carolina's Wine Industry is a cash cow. The state ranks number 10 in the nation for wine production. WFMY News 2's Tracey McCain went to Shelton Vineyards, one of the state's most popular tourist destinations. One of the things that makes Shelton Vineyards so unique is its production. Co-owners Ed and Charlie Shelton make and grow their own wines; fifteen different ones as a matter of fact. The wines sell at grocery stores, restaurants and wine bars in North Carolina, South Carolina and also in Virginia. The vineyard employs almost three dozen full time employees and more during peak season. It's just one of the vineyards that adds to the state economy.
