(VancouverSun) - The Supreme Court of Canada has upheld the conviction of a man for a bizarre sexual assault involving a wine cork in British Columbia. The country's top court released its ruling Friday in a case that tested to what degree evidence from a prior sexual assault could be used against an accused. Larry Jesse was charged after a house party in Winfield, B.C. — about 20 kilometres north of Kelowna, B.C. — which was held in February 2005. Residents of the home had gone outside looking for and intending to offer a ride home to Jesse, who had left the house in an intoxicated state, according to court documents.
