Apr 20, 2012

(MLive) - Several Kalamazoo area wineries and restaurants are pulling out all the corks in celebrating Michigan Wine Month in April with special releases and events. There are 92 wineries in the state, including 11 new additions in the last year, according to Michigan Grape and Wine Industry Council. Clearly, there's a lot to celebrate. This weekend also marks the start of several wine festivals throughout the summer in the Detroit area, northern Michigan and the 7th annual Lake Michigan Shore Wine Festival on June 16 in Bridgman in Southwest Michigan. Food Dance in Kalamazoo is holding a Michigan wine tasting from noon to 7 p.m. April 21. It's $7 per person.
