(IBNLive) - Agriculture Minister Umesh Katti today urged Excise Minister M P Renukacharya to free the wine industry from the 'clutches' of the excise department in order to popularise wine consumption in the state. Freeing the industry from excise department would help boost wine consumption, reduce prices and provide remunerative prices to farmers, he said, adding he would discuss the issue with Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda. He was speaking at the International Wine Festival here.
