(Bizjournals) - Quality Wine and Spirits, a family-owned liquor distributor, will be acquired by liquor industry heavyweight Southern Wine & Spirits . The Star Tribune reports that Bloomington-base Quality Wine is the state's third-largest distributor after Johnson Bros. of St. Paul and Wirtz Beverage, which is based in Chicago. Southern, one of the biggest players in the wholesaling business, is No. 4. It's based in Miami but expanded into Minnesota through a 2010 joint venture with J.J. Taylor.
