US: CA: SLO County wine grape production hurt by weather in 2011
Feb 11, 2012
(Sanluisobispo) - A whopping 35 percent fewer wine grapes were crushed in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties in 2011 compared with 2010, due in large part to wildly unpredictable weather, according to the preliminary California Department of Food and Agriculture’s Grape Crush Report released Friday.
More than 3.34 million tons of grapes were crushed statewide, compared with 2010, when 3.59 million tons were crushed.
