How to avoid 'Vintage Hysteria' and give your wine some room to breathe
Dec 18, 2011
(Poughkeepsiejournal) - A year ago, local wine experts and enthusiasts spoke to the Journal’s Hudson Valley Connoisseur section about the excitement surrounding the release of 2009 Bordeaux – which was (and still is) considered a banner vintage for the supreme French blend.
Today, 2009 Bordeaux is still very much part of the conversation, and the talking points have not much changed: Voracious demand from the Asian and South American markets drove future prices through the roof, and many collectors (wisely) held onto their wallets, choosing to wait until the wines would be available for retail purchase — sometime in early spring 2012.
