Some wine drinkers see red over screw-caps
Dec 1, 2011
(Bostonherald) - Wine snobs aren’t the only people popping their corks at the ever-increasing number of plastic screw-caps on wine bottles.
“I tend to stay away from bottles that have twist-off tops. I don’t know what it is,” said Antonio Musto, 22, of Walpole. “There’s something about popping the cork. It’s classier.”
“It’s about that whole experience of drinking wine ... the ambiance of opening a bottle,” said Reuben Buchanan, 21, of the Fenway. “It’s not rushed. It’s not like popping open a beer can.”
