Mexico lifts 20 percent tariff on Golden State wine

(Bizjournals) - Mexico has eliminated what the San Francisco-based Wine Institute called “retaliatory tariffs” on 99 U.S. products, including a 20 percent tariff on California and other U.S. wines, after a trucking dispute between the two North American neighbors was resolved. Golden State wines, and others produced in the United States, had been subject to the tariff resulting from a 2009 U.S./Mexico trade dispute regarding the safety of Mexican trucks in the United States, the Wine Institute said Friday.
