Egg white clarified wine still poses allergy risk, EFSA concludes

(BeverageDaily) - The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has concluded that wine clarified with egg white can still cause allergic reactions in susceptible individuals and should be labelled accordingly. EFSA said its panel on dietic products, nutrition and allergies (NDA) was asked by the European Commission (EC) to deliver a scientific opinion following a notification from International Organisation of Wine (OIV).
