US House bill has AZ winemakers worried

Aug 28, 2011

PHOENIX - Some Arizona winemakers fear legislation under consideration in the U.S. House of Representatives could dry up the state's wine industry. House Bill 1161 would allow Arizona and other states to potentially prohibit wineries such as Pillsbury's from selling directly to customers by granting to the states authority over interstate alcohol sales. Many winemakers ship their product to out-of-state clients.
