Moscato, Riesling and Malbec have shown 'explosive' growth in the US in the last two years, Neilsen's latest survey shows. The top six wine types – Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Pinot Grigio and Sauvignon Blanc – represent 64% of US consumer spending on wine, but other varieties show surprising growth.
