India: Wineries have nothing to whine about now

MUMBAI: After a huge post-budget increase in prices of Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) and beer in the state, restaurant and bar owners see a larger business plan in the industry: Promote wine. The prices of wine brands have remained stable and, sources said, prices may further come down as the state is offering sops to stakeholders in the industry. Maharashtra produces more than 90% of the country's stock.
