Harvest of 'liquid gold' a success in northeast U.S. and Ontario.With the coming of winter, the thoughts of wine drinkers naturally turn to ice wine, the lush, golden, intensely aromatic dessert wine often called “liquid gold.” When temperatures drop below 18°F, as they did in early December in the northeastern United States and Ontario, the ice wine harvest begins.
