Napa County Settles Lawsuit With Bremer Family Winery Over Alleged Permit and Code Violations

Photo courtesy of San Francisco Bay Regional Water Quality Control Board.ed its dispute with Bremer Family Winery, a winery in the eastern hills of the Napa Valley, over a series of alleged permit and code violations, according to court records.

Winery owners John and Laura Bremer have agreed to pay $271,464 to partially reimburse the County for attorneys’ fees and costs, according to the judgement filed Feb. 8 in Napa County Superior Court. In addition, the Bremers, who did not admit any liability, have to pay a promissory note of $320,658. The note will be canceled once the Bremers comply with the terms of the judgment.

Napa County Superior Court Judge Cynthia Smith signed the judgment on Feb. 8 and vacated the week-long trial that was scheduled for March.
