Here's one vision of new US wine law that could actually happen soon: Wine lovers anywhere in the country can easily order Château Margaux from their birth year. Fans of Cayuse's single-vineyard wines can easily order any of them (if they can afford it).

Those are scenarios posited in "amicus" briefs to the US Supreme Court in the upcoming case of Tennessee Wine and Spirits Retailers Association vs. Blair, which has the potential to reshape interstate wine shipping laws. (The details of the case are here.) They are the best-case scenarios.
