What's Next for Santa Barbara Wine?
Nov 19, 2018
(Wine-Searcher) - Typically known for its Pinot and Chardonnay, the Central Coast region now offers surprising variety.
Over the last few decades, California's viticultural scene has grown much further than just Napa and Sonoma. As vineyard prices in northern California continue to rise, winemakers are looking south, particularly to the sunny, seaside county of Santa Barbara. Though with climate change, an influx of new winemakers, and consumer interest that spans far beyond just Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, the age-old question remains: what's next.
