New Hampshire Backtracks on Shipping Crackdown

May 24, 2018

(Wine-Searcher) - People power causes New Hampshire's Liquor Commission to backtrack on clamping down on out-of-state retailers.

It's a win for the good guys: a House Bill, introduced by the New Hampshire Liquor Commission (NHLC) this month, that would have restricted out-of-state operators from shipping wine to New Hampshire residents has been shelved.

In a previous interview, a spokesperson for the control state shared that these permits were originally implemented to allow residents access to a wider variety of wines but were not meant to be used to purchase the same – or similar – brands available in state stores at lower prices.
