NUDIST RESTAURANT OPENS IN PARIS

Nov 8, 2017

(TDB) - Taking London’s lead, a nudist restaurant called O’naturel has opened in Paris’s 12th arrondissement, where customers are encouraged to disrobe before dinner.

Founded by twin brothers Mike and Stéphane Saada, the restaurant served its first meals on 2 November to members of the Paris Naturists Association, naturally.

The 40-seater site has been kitted out with thick blackout curtains to ensure privacy and features a cloakroom where customers can strip before dinner.

Napkins are provided for diners who are keen to protect their modesty. A night at O’naturel doesn’t come cheap – à la carte dishes start at €32.

Among the dishes on offer are snails with parsley; duck foie gras with apple chutney and sesame oil; braised chicken with truffle polenta and ‘crème brûlée revisited’. dbhopes the restaurant is well heated, or diners may be leaving with the chills.

According to Eater, some 2.6 million people in France participate in some form of nudism regularly.

In response to its growing popularity, a nudist area has just been unveiled within the Bois de Vincennes park in Paris.

O’naturel follows London pop-up The Bunyadi, which billed itself as ‘London’s first naked food experience’ when it opened in 2016. Aiming to take diners back to basics, the canopied space was filled with candles, bamboo and wicker.
