British Columbia Records Early Ice Wine Harvest

Nov 7, 2017

(Wines&Vines) - Record-breaking cold has delivered one of British Columbia’s earliest ice wine harvests, with a crew from Summerhill Pyramid Winery of Kelowna, B.C., bringing in berries early Monday morning.

The date is a full month earlier than last year, and nearly three weeks earlier than in 2015. It also comes just days after many growers in the southern Okanagan finished bringing in the last of their red wine cultivars.
