(Wines&Vines) - Sonoma State University’s Wine Business Institute is conducting a wildfire impact assessment study that will focus on the wine industry in California’s North Coast region, including Sonoma, Napa, Mendocino and Lake counties.

The study, launched Oct. 11, aims to offer immediate insights about the effects of fire on the industry. Preliminary findings are expected in early 2018, according to Dan Virkstis, marketing and communications manager for the SSU School of Economics, and long-term effects will be studied in the years to come.
