A watershed for the Okanagan wine industry

Sep 19, 2017

(Wines&Vines) - A dozen years ago, Andrew Peller Ltd. rocked British Columbia’s wine world when it bought the province’s oldest licensed winery, Calona Vineyards, through its purchase of Cascadia Brands Inc., and snapped up Naramata’s Red Rooster Winery.

The deals allowed it to consolidate its operations at a 160,000-square-foot facility at Kelowna in the heart of the Okanagan Valley, and boost its vineyard holdings in the province to 250 acres from just 75.
