(Stuff) - Southern Boundary Wines is in court over allegations it mislabelled products.

A Canterbury wine company and three of its directors are facing more than 150 charges in a landmark case alleging that thousands of bottles were sent overseas with false label information about their variety, vintage or origin.

Southern Boundary Wines Ltd, based in Waipara, North Canterbury, and vineyard manager and winemaker Scott Berry, winemaker Rebecca Cope and operations and export manager Andrew Moore face 156 charges between them.

The case was brought by the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) following an extensive investigation. All details were suppressed in January and can only be revealed after some the restrictions were lifted in the Christchurch District Court on Thursday.
