A divided Calistogan council votes to allow 2 outdoor marijuana plants

Apr 21, 2017

(NVR) - Swayed by public opinion and personal preferences, a divided City Council decided this week to allow up to two marijuana plants to be grown outdoors and four indoors.

Council members voted 3 to 2 in favor of an ordinance to allow outdoor growth of up to two marijuana plants per residence, with Councilmember Jim Barnes voting against it on the principle that residents should be allowed to grow all six plants outside should they choose.

The other dissenting vote was from a self-proclaimed user of marijuana, Vice Mayor Michael Dunsford, who voted no because of the potential nuisance outdoor growing could cause to neighbors.
