If That Wine You Love Suddenly Tastes Weird Don't Blame The Cork
Jan 8, 2017
(Forbes) - If the wine you have been consuming for quite a long time suddenly tastes worse to you, maybe you are drinking it on the wrong day . To find out if it is indeed the wrong day for that wine, take a look at your calendar, but don’t focus on what day it is; focus on the moon cycle.
Better still, get your hands on a lunar/solar calendar, or step outside and check on the location of constellations and planets. If the moon is passing through Sagittarius, Aries or Leo, it’s fruit day, when wines taste their best. If the moon is in Virgo, Capricorn or Taurus, however, it’s root day, and your wine may taste bitter. If you don’t have a calendar handy or you hate to be outside in the dark, there’s an app to tell you what you will taste on lunar days.
The biodynamic calendar for sowing and planting breaks down into four groups: fruit days, flower days, leaf days and root days. Biodynamic followers claim wines are at their best tasting on fruit and flower days. An idea to which we can now give a hearty—well, maybe.
