Storms Bring Much Needed Rain to Northern California

Dec 13, 2016

(Wines&Vines) - While California soaked up a string of much-needed winter storms last week, it’s still unclear if this winter will bring enough rain to break the state’s long drought.

The recent rain fell across most of the northern half of the state, where the drought has ended in some places, but not in the Central Coast or south where precipitation is most needed.

Napa received 0.38 inches of rain, Santa Rosa saw 1.13 inches, and Ukiah, Calif., in Mendocino County was drenched with 2.28 inches in the past 72 hours ending Dec. 11, according to the National Weather Service.
