Sep 20, 2016

(Wines&Vines) - Precept Wine purchased 62 acres bordering its existing Skyfall Vineyard in the Yakima Valley, located just south of Red Mountain outside of Benton City, according to a statement released by chief executive officer Andrew Browne. Terms of the sale were not disclosed.

Precept acquired Skyfall, a 174-acre parcel comprised of both vineyards and orchard land, in June 2013. “Vice president of vineyard operations Dave Minick and his team replanted a significant portion of the orchard land to vineyard across more than a dozen mainly red wine varieties,” the statement said. “In acquiring the new, neighboring parcel, approximately 57 of the 62 total acres will be planted with vines in spring 2017. About two-thirds of the varieties will be planted to Cabernet Sauvignon, rounded out by Malbec and a small amount of Petit Verdot.”
