New study reveals wine is good for one important part of your body
Sep 11, 2016
(Her) - Wine not?
Many of us have a love-hate relationship with wine. In my case, I love wine but wine hates me as the hangover I get after a few glasses always pushes me to my limits, making me realise that one or two glasses is more than enough.
According to a new study in Frontiers in Human Neuroscience, wine experts with years of smelling wine have thicker parts to their brain, which in turn reportedly prevents both Alzheimer's and Parkinson's.
The study was undertaken by 13 master sommeliers and 13 regular wine drinkers who had their brain scanned as they smelled wine and fruits.
The results found that the former group had a better brain reaction to smell specifically in the areas of the brain that stores memory.
Speaking to the NY Post, Dr Sarah Banks, author of the study spoke of how smelling wine has a positive effect on your brain.
