(SYVNews) - Jaffurs Wine Cellars, a Santa Barbara County standout for Rhone varietal wines, has been sold to winemaker Daniel Green, according to a statement from the Santa Barbara-based winery.

The acquisition includes the Jaffurs Wine Cellars inventory, tasting room, and production facility. Founded in 1994 by Craig and Lee Jaffurs, Jaffurs Wine Cellars has consistently produced some of the highest rated Rhone varietal wines in the county, including Syrah, Grenache, Petite Sirah, Roussanne and Viognier, according to the statement.

Daniel Green, who resides in Santa Barbara, will be involved in day-to-day operations and plans to preserve what makes the Jaffurs brand special. Founder and owner Craig Jaffurs will also keep an active role in the day-to-day winery operations for the coming year to provide expertise and ensure continuity.

He will then transition to a seat on the board of directors. All staff at Jaffurs Wine Cellars will stay on board, including General Manager Dave Yates, Winemaker Matt Brady, and Assistant Winemaker, Steve Searle.
