Sonoma Cider opening taproom in Healdsburg this summer

Apr 25, 2016

(SFGate) - The past few years have been booming for the hard cider business, including Sonoma County, which is home to the beloved Gravenstein heirloom apple.

For decades, Sebastopol has been home to what is considered the country’s first modern cider pub, Ace. This summer, Healdsburg will be getting a cider taproom of its very own from the team behind three-year-old cidery, Sonoma Cider.

Founded in 2013 by father-son team David Cordtz, who was one of Ace’s early cider-makers, and his son, Robert Cordtz, the cidery’s different blends are sold around the country in various retail outlets, but the taproom will mark their first official brick-and-mortar outpost.

The menu at the 60-seat taproom, which will be located about a block south from the Square, will feature about 25 craft cider taps, including special releases and experimental batches, as well as different varieties from around the globe. In addition to cider, the space will also serve food and host live music and other entertainment.
