Sales of Bordeaux 2009 are 'balanced on a knife edge', Liv-ex has warned, though merchants disagree. The web-based trading platform, on which a case of Lafite 09 was traded last month for £10,000, before the chateau had priced or released the wine, says in its latest market report there is 'a very real danger Bordeaux has overestimated demand'.
