Dec 16, 2015

(NVR) - More than $4,000 worth of stolen wine was found in a vehicle Monday night and two arrests were made after Napa Police were called to Nob Hill Foods to investigate a wine theft.

When police arrived at Nob Hill on Trancas Street shortly after 7 p.m., they learned that the store had detained one suspect, but two others had fled in a vehicle, police said.

The two individuals, identified as Phu Nguyen, 51, and Chi Ung, 37, were stopped on Highway 29, traveling southbound, near Highway 121.

Police located 14 bottles of wine from Nob Hill Foods in the vehicle and a total of 60 bottles of wine, valued at more than  $4,000, that apparently had been stolen from a variety of stores in and around Napa County, police said.

Drugs were also located in the vehicle, including cocaine and individually wrapped bags of methamphetamine, police said.

Nguyen and Ung, both of San Jose, were arrested and booked at the Napa County jail for suspicion of burglary, grand theft, possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell, possession of cocaine, and conspiracy.
