Napa Valley: Hill Wine Company property sold

Nov 13, 2015

(NVR) - The winery at 1001 Silverado Trail formerly occupied by Jeffry Hill’s Hill Wine Company has been sold to a holding company that will lease it to Livermore Valley’s AuburnJames Winery. That winery is now producing wine at a custom winery. Jeff Hill had numerous legal problems and filed for bankruptcy last year.

The 5.67-acre property sold for $11.2 million; the asking price was $12.95 million. It contained no vineyards. Robyn Bentley of Wine Country Consultants represented the buyers. Maher Advisors advised the sellers.

The facility has a permit for 100,000 cases but needs a septic upgrade and is now producing 50,000. It is grandfathered in for extensive events and use of 55 percent out-of-county grapes.
