Google launches 360-degree winery views, Tesla adds charging stations in wine country

Aug 31, 2015

(MercuryNews) - Google winery sneak peeks: Now you can check out wineries before you even get there, thanks to the newest update to Google's 360-degree street view feature. New for wine country, now you can see the tasting room, vineyards and more at 78 California wineries. Click on the "show imagery" tab in the bottom right corner on Google maps for photo spheres.

Electric juice: Speaking of technology and the wine world, Tesla Model S drivers can get a shot of juice with their sips when they visit a dozen or so wineries throughout Napa Valley and Sonoma County, as well as at Ridge Vineyards in Cupertino. Two of the newest "destination charging locations" are at Spottswoode Winery and Joseph Phelps Vineyards in St. Helena. Charges are complimentary for winery visitors. And at Spottswoode, the juice is solar-powered.
