Petar Kirilov, winemaker and founder of VinoEnology.com grew up in Bulgaria, and graduated from the prestigious University of Food Technologies in 2002 with a Master's degree in Beverage Technology, with a specialization in Wine, Beer, Spirits and Soft Drink Technology. He began his professional career as a Beverage Technologist in a Bulgarian factory for high alcohol beverage, and worked briefly for a non-alcoholic & energy drink company. In 2003, Petar decided to leave for California and learn more about the winemaking process. He secured an internship with Truchard Vineyards in the Napa Valley, where he was later promoted to Assistant Winemaker. In 2005, Petar joined the hi-tech wine company Vinovation, as Winemaker, where he has been involved in numerous research and development projects. In summer 2008 Petar joined Magito Wines as a Winemaker to oversee the production of small lot boutique wines. He is also consulting for hi-tech filtration company American WineSecrets and number of winery clients by helping them start and expand their wine brands.
